FOUR DIAMONDS Charitable Trust is established as an after school and holiday care programme to provide an inclusive, enriching, fun experience and to give a sense of belonging in a mainstream facility to children who are neurodivergent, have special needs, need extra support with dedicated staff who are trained to cater for all their needs. Our Mission
The mission of FOUR DIAMONDS is the pursuit of the following principles:
Commitment: FOUR DIAMONDS wants to inspire social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and instil a sense of hope in the future.Responsibility: The focus of FOUR DIAMONDS is to empower children in establishing goals and following through on commitments.Possibility: FOUR DIAMONDS wants to expand the perspective of children to make them aware of all life's possibilities.Support: An individual is dramatically influenced by their support system. FOUR DIAMONDS wants to surround these children in a caring, inclusive safe supporting environment.
We believe in these four principles (4 diamonds) that help to provide healthy growing relationships in the development of all our children's life. Our Keys to Success
Establish a strong network of support with the local disability support services and the community.Launch a series of fundraising that will successfully fund this programme. To help support more families who require placement with children requiring after school, holiday programmes for children with special needs.Establish an effective training programme for supervisors that will increase their ability to be successful communicators. Background
Rachel McNabb started Kids Domain 21 years ago with the thought of making a difference in the community and being able to help families by providing Out of School Care Services (OSCAR).Kids Domain started off as a small programme of 5 children. With two centres running, they can cater up to 120 children at one time. Kids Domain is a level 3 accredited OSCAR provider.Over the years there has been a dramatic notice in families trying to find a suitable service provider as their child/ren are neurodivergent and/or have a disability. Many mainstream OSCAR providers do not cater and these families struggle finding somewhere safe and fun for their child to go.Years ago, Kids Domain noticed that there maybe one or two children that need extra support. Fast forward to today and there has been a huge increase of children attending Kids Domain programmes (refer to spreadsheet data 2016-2020).Due to the growing demand of children that require extra support, Kids Domain has trained all of their staff to help these children be incorporated and included into a mainstream programme
• Autism spectrum disorder (ASD);• Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD);• Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD)• Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD); and• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
Currently, Kids Domain have to turn children and their families away because they cannot cater for the increasing number of new children trying to enrol. Extra trained staff are required and/or the centre may not be suitable for the children’s needs (too many children, or not enough quiet areas). Unfortunately, there is no extra funding available to Kids Domain to increase accessibility to these families, therefore Four Diamonds has emerged
